The essential point
- Allow time for play and breaks; a published walking time is not a family timetable. Set the pace for the youngest or least comfortable walker.
- Check steps, exposed edges, rocky passages and shade in the full description. An easy rating does not mean a route is suitable for a pushchair.
- Carry water and sun protection for everyone. In hot weather or when access is restricted, choose another day or an explicitly open alternative.
